Great News: Canada Lynx Are No Longer Considered Endangered Species!

The Canada Lynx has been under special protections in the United States since 2000. According to Al Gore the rate of the species loss is huge compared to the natural background rate. However, it seems like his predictions were not so accurate.

This big cat has been on the list of endangered species according to the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service for 17 years. Thanks to the new data that they accumulated, they are now working on removing the Canada lynx from this list. According to the International Union for the Conservation of Nature Red List of Threatened Species the cat is now listed as “Least concern”.

This animal is thriving and doing so much better than what was foretold. As stated by the U.S. wildlife manager, the climate change will not put the species on the edge of extinction. At least not in the near future.
