We must admit that it is quite an unusual trio. A cat, rat and dog to become such good and inseparable friends is not a common thing to see. Instead of chasing each other around being enemies these little buddies like to spend all their time together and in peace.
Cat, Rat and Dog – the First Meeting!
The cat, rat and dog trio can be found in Wisconsin at the Oshkosh Area Humane Society. All three of them ended up in the shelter because their owners no longer could give them proper care. It didn’t end up so bad for them after all at the end of the day.
The puppy is called Sasha, the kitten Jack and the rat is called Tweaks. When they were separated for the first time for their medical examination the shelter staff immediately knew that it was a bad decision. Jack seemed too nervous without having his best buddies around and as soon as they were brought together Jack was calm. Ever since they have been inseparable all three of them hang our together playing and cuddling. The staff couldn’t believe that such a trio could exist.
They also knew that adopting them will be quite the challenge since separating them was not an option. It took them around three weeks to be able to find a happy home. Their current owner Kathy definitely didn’t want to adopt a rat. She and her daughter wanted to adopt a cat and a dog, but Kathy was really skeptical when it came to the rat. Luckily the staff managed to convince her to hold Tweaks and she was able to see that he is a very sweet animal.
Now the trio has a caring forever home that is willing to accept all of them and give them all the love they need.
We have a love triangle going on here at OAHS. And it involves a dog, a cat and a rat! Tweaks (rat), Sasha (dog) and Jack (cat) came from the same house and we'd really like to keep this trio together because, well….they love each other! Jack the cat is visually impaired and he depends on Sasha for emotional support. Sasha the dog loves Tweaks the rat and Tweaks just loves everyone! Take a look at this video compilation of The Rat Pack and consider keeping this little family together by adopting all three!
