Have you experienced a moment when it seems like someone is knocking on the door or window, but nobody’s there? Or, have you ever witnessed a situation in which your cat stands in the middle of the room and stares in the empty space? Well, what if the space is not empty after all? Creepy, right? But do not let me worry you, because your dogs and cats see invisible things and they are here to save you!
Scientifically Proved – Dogs and Cats See Invisible Things!
A biologist at the City University of London has conducted a research and the results are rather extraordinary! It turns out that dogs and cats can see the UV rays which are invisible to the human eye. In case you didn’t know the ultraviolet rays have a wavelength from 10 nm to 400 nm, while the range of the spectrum visible for the human eye goes from 400 nm to 700 nm, i.e. is limited to the colors of the rainbow.
In the exploration of the UV rays and their visibility, the findings showed that human lenses are adjusted to protecting the retina and therefore this kind of radiation rays are not visible to the human eye. Cats and dogs, on the other hand, do not have this kind of lenses like the humans do, so they can see them. Please bear in mind that the research has been done on dead animals and mammals, so no living cat was hurt or harmed.
So if you remember Superman who had a special ability to see through walls and stuff, cats can see a lot of things we don’t without even having surreal powers! I must admit that I envy the fact that what I have seen just as a drawn arrow indicating the wave, they have seen as a real color, or light, or I do not know how UV rays would look like. So, at the end it seems that having a cat at home is just as the same as having a superhero!
